Correction to: Russet Potato Breeding Clones with Extreme Resistance to Potato Virus Y Conferred by Rychc as well as Resistance to Late Blight and Cold‑Induced Sweetening

چکیده
Potato virus Y (PVY) impacts potato production worldwide by reducing yield, tuber quality, and successful certification of seed. Extreme resistance to PVY is conferred three genes (Ryadg, Rysto, Rychc) which have been introgressed from wild species into cultivated varieties. Both Rysto Ryadg are used in many breeding programs worldwide, but Rychc found only a limited number varieties previously had absent germplasm representative the russet market class that widely grown North America. Five clones were identified as having molecular marker associated with Rychc. Confirmation presence was established following field greenhouse screening for no infection being observed. These also characterized late blight cold-induced sweetening tubers all male-fertile well. The unique assemblage resistances this will be value community development varieties, especially respect has not reported present class.

Induction of Resistance to Potato Virus Y (PVY) Using Hairpin Construct of Coat Protein
Potato virus Y (PVY) is one of the most damaging viruses of potato plants which infecting most cultivars and causing significant yield and economical losses. The application of the concept of pathogen derived resistance opened new horizons for the development of virus-resistant plants. This research was carried out to study RNA silencing to engineered potato plants that are resistant to potato ...
متن کاملPathogen derived resistance to Potato virus Y: mechanisms and risks
Since the concept of pathogen derived resistance (PDR) was proposed in 1985, genetic transformation of plants to express virus-derived sequences has been used to engineer resistance to many viruses. This paper reviews PDR approaches to Potato virus Y (PVY, type member of the genus Potyvirus). PDR to viruses operates often through RNA-mediated resistance mechanisms that do not require protein ex...
متن کاملInduction of resistance to potato virus Y strain NTN in potato plants through RNAi
Potato viruses cause enormous economic loss in agriculture production. Potatoes can be infected by a number of different viruses that affect negatively the harvest and the tuber quality. Direct and effective drugs against plant virus diseases are still not available and control is only applied as agricultural measures and pesticides against virus vectors. Potato virus Y (PVY) is transmitted by ...
متن کاملLate Blight Resistance of RB Transgenic Potato Lines
Late blight of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.), incited by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is a devastating disease affecting tuber yield and storage. Recent work has isolated a resistance gene, RB, from the wild species Solanum bulbocastanum Dun. Earlier work in Toluca, Mexico, observed significant levels of field resistance under intense disease pressure in a somatic hybrid containing R...
متن کاملLate blight resistance in a diploid full-sib potato family
Late blight, caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is the most destructive disease of potato worldwide. As this pathogen can rapidly overcome major race-specific resistance genes, identifying the basis for enhanced quantitative resistance has become a crucial element for implementing advanced breeding strategies. A population of 230 full-sib progeny derived from a cross between two ...
